"Scarred Hearts" is roused by Romanian creator Max Blecher's novel, which is set in 1937. It fixates on Emanuel, a man in his mid 20s, who spends his days at a sanatorium on the Black Sea drift, experiencing bone tuberculosis. Going gaga for another patient, he portrays his and his kindred patients' endeavors to live to the full as their bodies gradually shrink yet their psyches decline to give in. Blecher composed the content, hailed as a gem on production in Romania in 1939, as self-portraying notes before he kicked the bucket, following 10 long periods of torment, at 29 years old.
