 Synopsis

On Christmas Eve, Mr. Stahlbaum gives his daugther Clara and her siblings Christmas presents as her mother's last gift to them. Her older sister Louise gets their mother's favorite dress, Clara gets a locked egg-shaped box created by her godfather, Drosselmeyer and her younger brother gets a toy soldier. In order to unlock a box containing a priceless gift from her mother, Clara follows a thread given to her by her godfather, to the associated key in a parallel world. There she meets a soldier named Captain Philip Hoffman, a group of mice, and the various regents that preside over the world's three realms. The Sugar Plum Fairy, regent of the Land of Sweets explains to Clara that her mother, Queen Marie created this world when she was a young girl and animated everyone with a machine. Sugar Plum explains that the machines don't work without a key, one that Clara mentions that the mice have it.
