Viceroy's House 2017 by Gurinder Chadha

 Synopsis

The last Viceroy of India, Lord Mountbatten, needs to manage the progress of British India to autonomy yet meets with struggle as the sides conflict even with stupendous changes; i.e., eventually the division of India into independent Hindu and Muslim greater part nations, Secular India and Islamic Pakistan. Down the stairs in the hirelings quarters, Mountbatten's new attendant, Jeet (Manish Dayal) falls for the little girl's right hand, Alia (Huma Qureshi) and all way of deterrents are placed in their direction.
